Flitwick Eagles Football Club
History
20th Anniversary was in 2006.
|
A Brief History
Flitwick
Eagles was first started in 1986 when a group of
11 year old boys approached a chap called Tom Filben to help
organise a football team. He did and they came up with the
name of Flitwick Eagles
The Eagles were
born!
Soon after
setting up the Eagles, Tom moved home and passed the job
onto Terry Wickens a father of one of the team. Terry had 2
sons, both of whom played for the Eagles. |

Club Constitution
&
Code of
Conduct |
As the
word got around, of the newly formed club, more and
more boys wanted to play for the Eagles and Terry
approached me (Charlie Gazeley) to run another
team. My eldest son started to play in this team
and soon more and more boys became interested and
wanted to join the Eagles. As soon as my younger
son was old enough he also joined the Eagles and
soon we were all hooked.
As interest grew new
teams were being formed year after year and new
managers came bringing more new players.
The club has
grown from humble beginnings to its present day size,
to include 22 teams. 18 Boys teams ranging from U8’s to U16’s
and 5 girls teams ranging from U10's to Ladies. We play
in various leagues such as the Milton Keynes,
Filmergraphics, Chiltern Severn and Colts
leagues.
Over the years we have had
many success stories, you can find some of them
listed in the
Trophy
Room.
Our club policy is
not to necessarily take on the best players but to
provide the best facilities and coaching for all
girls and boys regardless of ability.
|
| On
the 25th May 2005, the club became a registered
Charity. We
also have an active social circle for parents and
players. We use the club facilities when we
like and hold various functions like children's parties,
bingo, quiz nights, discos and loads more. Check out
the
Social Events
page for current Eagles
events. |
