Our history is our heritage
The club was founded in 1986 by parents providing a Flitwick based team for their sons. At that time Flitwick was a rapidly growing town with a clear need for the development of local organisations. The club developed and expanded as the town grew and now fields around 40 teams each season providing opportunities for around 400 members, from the infant boys and girls through to senior men’s and ladies teams.
The club has made steady progress off the field in organisation and administration that culminated in the club being awarded The F.A. Charter Standard Community Club Status in 2003, one of the first in the County. We are one of a handful of clubs in England to have also been awarded Charitable Status. The club is also happy to be a partner club of Arsenal Ladies.
Whilst the club is primarily focused on participation, we have won our fair share of trophies over the years. We endeavour to provide competitive football at a level appropriate to the players potential ability. Our annual pre-season tournament is recognised as one of the best in the county. It caters for over 100 competing teams over the weekend from clubs all over the county and further afield.
The club has acquired numerous pennants from tours and representative games. Overseas tours include Egmond (Holland) and Como Lake (Italy) in recent years. We have also sent several teams to UK holiday centres. The club encourages off the field activities with regular social functions including Friday night club and various parties throughout the season. We are proud to have had children taking part in prominent events at Wembley Stadium. Teams and officers have received prestigious awards from Leagues and Beds FA for fair play and organisation. We have received numerous fair play awards and one of our managers was awarded The F.A Football Workforce National Award in front of 90,000 spectators at the Community Trophy at Wembley.
